The Hydrant Trophy is emblematic of supremacy of firefighters curling in Canada. It is presented annually to the winners of our proud event. This trophy was manufactured at Terminal City Iron Works Ltd. Vancouver, British Columbia in 1987 for Labatt's who were the national sponsors at that time. Labatt ceased sponsorship in 1992. The trophy was returned to Terminal City in March 1993 for maintenance and removal of the origional sponsors' (Labatt) name. The trophy was again returned to Terminal City in August 1999 for repainting and remounting. It is one of a kind. On behalf of the Canadian Firefighters Curling Association and its membership, we sincerely would like to thank Terminal City Iron Works and its staff for the Hydrant and their support of firefighters curling.

National Sponsorship
The CFFCA has been without a national sponsor since 1992. Our national championship is the only event in Canada in which firefighters gather each year from every territory and province to compete for a national title. This is the second oldest national consecutive curling championship in Canada behind the Brier as recognized by the CCA. Its level of competition and caliber of curling rivals that of the Brier as each year past World Champions and Brier participants compete for the Hydrant Trophy, supremacy of firefighters curling in Canada. As quoted by Neil Houston, Director of Championship Services for the CCA, "They're a Canadian championship that has been around for many world championships and have (purple) hearts. I've seen it and they're all well-run events, so it's another positive slant for curling". If anyone is interested in sponsoring this event, please contact our organization through the office of
